Crusaders-for-Hire

There has been an ongoing story that hasn’t really gotten too much traction back when the Bush Imperium was running things.

That story is about a private army called Blackwater, and its influential owner with mysterious ties to positions of political power.

The liberal magazine known as “The Nation” has been taking a good look at this mercenary army, and how this army has apparently been engaging in a theocratic agenda that was best summed up by venom-spewer Ann Coulter when she said in 2001, “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.” Only somewhere along the line, the conversion part is missing.

Well now that the Imperium is out of power, the wraps are apparently coming off, and the accusations are disturbing.  This private army apparently (operative word “APPARENTLY”) has been waging a war based ON RELIGION.  Their chosen enemies weren’t terrorists or insurrectionists… their apparent chosen enemies were just MUSLIMS… PERIOD.  They were – according to these accusations – waging war on behalf of Christianity!

Not a philosophical war.  Not a theological war.  Not some ethereal war of conscience.  Not a media campaign.  A REAL WAR!  With bullets and guns and bombs and people dying.  LOTS of people dying.  COUNTLESS people dying.

And they got away with it all this time because they didn’t answer to any form of government oversight.  They didn’t answer to Congress.  They answered to the Secretary of State, Condoleza Rice… the same Secretary Rice that is supposedly a member of the C Street Center.

I really wish I could give you the video on this… but WordPress HATES NBC’s video engine with a passion, so I can only give you their link and invite you to watch this for yourself.   And then read READ the articles in question.

If you ever wonder why my friends in the Atheists and free-thinking circles are so infatuated with religion and is so critical of its application, all you have to do is look at this private mercenary operation and what it has DONE in the name of religion to see why they (and freedom-lovers like myself) are so concerned.

And by the way… just a little historical reference.  There was once a certain accusation levied against the leader of the country that was considered to be despicable and deplorable.

“He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.”

The accuser was Thomas Jefferson.  The “He” in this case was King George III of England.  The document in question… is the Declaration of Independence.

The only reason why history repeats itself is because we REFUSE to learn its lessons.

Are You Offended?

Are you offended by what I say here?  Are you truly upset over my comments against religion?  Good.  But, that is your choice, not mine.  More importantly, you cannot offend me.  I cannot be offended by your words. Ever.  But, I CAN be offended by your actions.  The ACTIONS of the religious are a declaration of war against civil society.  They are an abomination, the culmination of a delusion, an hallucination of mythological characters, spewed about in ancient “holy” texts.  Consider this… How can you justify your religious actions based on fiction?  Do you really feel better about yourself when you deny human rights in the name of a skydaddy?  Does it somehow empower you to self-righteousness, bigotry and hate?  Is it a validation of your inability to cope with the reality of death by claiming a heaven or a hell?  Please, spare me the rhetoric of religious dung.  Look deep into yourself and consider the possibility, the very real probability, that you are WRONG.  And, indeed you are WRONG.

All it takes is a little faith…

An eye for an eye?  Vengeance for a zygote? Revenge for the unborn?  Or, maybe it’s simply “faith” in something that doesn’t exist, a perfect excuse for murderDr. George Tiller, a late term abortion physician in Wichita, KS was murdered in cold blood in the lobby of a church this morning.  Shot dead in his place of worship.  I find this ironic.  Which one of the two people directly involved in this incident had the correct version of a skydaddy?  The murderer, or the murdered? Someone had to be right, RIGHT? Yeah right! Apparently the skydaddy didn’t care to make its desires clear enough, so someone had to guess.  Unfortunately for the victim, his murderer’s decision/guess to do HIS version of a skydaddy’s dirty work panned out.  And, even more disturbing is the fact that if this kind of zealotry can happen between denominations (and there are over 33,800+ in the U.S.), what’s to stop it from happening to anyone who doesn’t worship any god?  Wouldn’t one think that if a skydaddy did exist he would have stopped this carnage?  Yet, it’s these murderous, vengeful, hate ridden acts, that continue day after day, year after year, in the U.S. and around the world that make one wonder.  Someone gets a little “faith” and wallah! “My skydaddy’s bigger than yours is and he’s right! So, you better shut the fuck up, do as I say, not as I do, because I got GOD on my side, bitch!” If anyone’s skydaddy is all knowing, all seeing, all powerful, let the fucker do its own dirty work!  The fact is that without a zealot to take up the task, the skydaddy is impotent.  Hmmm… no.  How about the skydaddy doesn’t exist.  Sadly, the reality is that all it takes is a little “faith” in a myth to kill in the myth’s name.

I’ll say it again and again…

“Faith” is deaf, dumb and blind.  It  can easily motivate people to do horrible things they would otherwise avoid.  It is a sick and twisted justification for murder, hate, bigotry, and disdain.  All it takes is a little “faith”.

[Addendum]

Here’s a list of other religiously motivated violent acts against abortion providers:

April 2007: Authorities say Paul Ross Evans placed a homemade bomb in the parking lot of the Austin Women’s Health Center in Texas. A bomb squad disposes of the device, which contained two pounds of nails. There were no injuries. Evans was later sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Oct. 23, 1998: Dr. Barnett Slepian is fatally shot in his home in a suburb of Buffalo, N.Y. Militant abortion opponent James Kopp is convicted of the murder in 2003 and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Jan. 29, 1998: A bomb explodes just outside a Birmingham, Ala., abortion clinic, killing a police officer and wounding several others. Eric Rudolph was arrested in May 2003 after several years on the lam. He later pleaded guilty to that incident and the deadly bombing at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He was sentenced in 2005 to two consecutive life terms without parole.
Jan. 16, 1997: Two bomb blasts an hour apart rock an Atlanta building containing an abortion clinic. Seven people are injured. Rudolph is charged by federal authorities in October 1998.
Dec. 30, 1994: John Salvi opens fire with a rifle inside two Boston-area abortion clinics, killing two receptionists and wounding five others. Sentenced to life without parole, he kills himself in prison in 1996.
Nov. 8, 1994: Dr. Garson Romalis, who performs abortions in Vancouver, Canada, is shot in the leg while eating breakfast at home.
July 29, 1994: Dr. John Bayard Britton and his volunteer escort, James H. Barrett, are slain outside a Pensacola, Fla., abortion clinic. Barrett’s wife, June, is wounded in the attack. Paul J. Hill, 40, a former minister and anti-abortion activist, is later convicted of murder and sentenced to death.
Aug. 19, 1993: Dr. George Tiller is shot in the arms as he drives out of parking lot at his Wichita, Kan., clinic. Rachelle “Shelley” Shannon is later convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
March 10, 1993: Dr. David Gunn is shot to death outside Pensacola, Fla., clinic, becoming the first U.S. doctor killed during an anti-abortion demonstration. Michael Griffin is convicted and serving a life sentence.

My take on abortion?

Humor: Thousands of my potential children died on your daughters face last night! LOL!

Serious: It’s a woman’s body.  Religion has no right to legislate morals, values or health issues.

MURDER by God!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , on May 23, 2009 by RJ Evans

In my estimation the greatest danger that religion has to offer the believer is prayer.  This manifestation of the ultimate delusion preys on the idea that the skydaddy is listening to your every word, and if you have enough “faith”, prayer is sufficient to invoke miracles.  But, prayer is a ruse.  It is a parlor trick at best, a method to murder at worst.

Leilani Neumann is a 44 year old woman from Wisconsin. This religious zealot murdered her daughter through prayer.  Madeline Neumann was 11 years old, suffering from diabetes.  Her mother ignored Madeline’s inability to walk and talk.  Instead, she  and her bible thumping buddies decided to pray for their victim.  As they prayed, the little girl stopped breathing.  You can guess what comes next.  It was then, and only then, that the decision was made to call 911.

Leilani Neumann was convicted of second degree reckless murder.  But, why was she the only one to be charged?  There were other bible thumping adults present at this prayer execution!  Why have they not been brought up on charges of accessory to murder?  And, consider for a moment the comments of Leilani Neumann’s attorney, Gene Linehan, who had the audacity to defend this zealots actions.  Linehan said Neumann didn’t realize her daughter was so ill and did all she could do to help, in line with the family’s belief in faith-healing.  He said Neumann was a devout Christian who prays about everything and took good care of her four children.

Took good care of her children by praying?!  REPREHENSIBLE!  UTTER BULLSHIT!

Add insult to murder here.  Yes, a desire to puke at this moment may prevent you from reading further.  But, the fact is that there’s more!  The attorney Linehan was quoted as saying, “Religious extremism is a Muslim terrorist. They are saying these parents were so far off the scale that they murdered their child. The woman did everything she could to help her. That is the injustice in this case.”

Everything she could?!  You sick, demented, religious fuck!  You should be brought up on charges as well!

(Must breathe and compose)

Oh, and to cap all this off…

The stepfather of Leilani wants murder by god legalized!  He said Leilani did nothing wrong by trusting in a skydaddy to heal her daughter!  He is quoted as saying, “We should have that right in this country”.

You sick delusional fuck!

(MUST BREATHE…)

This isn’t the only disgusting piece of religious dung to hit the news lately.  If you’ve been following this past weeks events, you know about the mother who has refused chemo for her cancer ridden son on the basis of her religion.  Defying a court order, she kidnapped the child and is on the run.  Once again the danger of religious beliefs continues to rack up charges, pain, suffering, and murder.

Now, if I could just convince these people to watch this video and use their fuckin’ brains!
