I would like to thank you for speaking out against Oklahoma’s Personhood Bill. I call it the “Oklahoma Hates Women Act,” and I will continue to protest it. It is exactly as you said, it is rape. It frightens me, when I see all of the things that the government wants to decide based on the personal agendas of those whom are within its structure. Please continue to support us with your spoken truths.

Great commentary David! You mentioned the fact that Rhode Island was founded as a bastion of religious freedom, and I (or someone) said, it’s too bad the people who live there seem to have no idea what their state’s history is.

And as I said last night, the words “Under God” (which were literally SCREAMED at Jessica every chance these sheeple got) was inserted into the Pledge during the McCarthy era (I believe it was pushed hard by the Catholic fraternity the Knights of Columbus to go up against those godless Commies).

Makes you wonder exactly what those folks in Rhode Island are being taught and/or learning today. It certainly isn’t the REAL history of their state.

I don’t want to discourage even “soft” atheists. However, sometimes their “we must choose our battles” mantra works an enabling function on those who think if they take an inch they will be rewarded with a mile.

Some may be willing to own up to being human, but still cling desperately to the pillar of their chosen deity’s mythical perfection. This has the effect of denying responsibility for deeds perpetrated and ideas promulgated on behalf of said deity. It gives them a sense of power that acceptance of their mere humanity would seem to deny them. No wonder they hang onto that so doggedly in the face of reason.

I really appreciate this weekly feature … it helps to know just how important to our society the contributions of atheists have been. Should the advocates of having religion infiltrate our government at all levels have their way, it will disenfranchise many of the most productive people within our society, silence their voices for fear of reprisal, and shackle the minds of everyone in our nation! If Justice Scalia is the “intellect” of the court, then we have even bigger problems than I thought! There can be no rational justification for excluding “infidels” from the protection of the Bill of Rights. What part of “no establishment” does this “intellect” fail to comprehend? We have Ronnie Reagan, the competent actor and incompetent politician, to “thank” for Scalia …
