A Question on Abortion

The abortion/woman’s reproductive rights issue is still a major focus for GOP wingdings.  As a result, there are no less than 5 bills pending, in the Oklahoma legislature alone, that seek to restrict a woman’s right to her body.  The vast scope and magnitude of the GOP’s assault on women has been nothing short of astounding over the past 10 years, and the pace is sure to continue.  Of course, it’s all about “protecting the unborn”, “right to life”, etc. etc. etc. But, is it really?  I’m very curious to know whether or not christians really care about life.  If so, whose life?  Anyone in particular?  Any life whatsoever?  Or, just those who have the potential to benefit christianity?

Below you will find two polls.  One for christians and one for atheists, agnostics, and secularists of any stripe.  Choose the appropriate poll and make a selection.

  3. Actually I can’t vote either way, because the question itself presumes that one would have a right that would only be granted to one particular religious group. I have no right to say that ONLY atheists should have the legal right to an abortion, any more than the religious groups should have the legal right to demand that the rest of the world should adhere to the tenants and trappings of their faith.
